NSF Grant: Planning: CRISES: Center for Humane AI Studies (CHAIS) {link}
Play a key role in establishing and enhancing research collaborations by initiating the CHAIS Innovation Salon for weekly interdisciplinary discussions, creating a multi-disciplinary reading group, and leading a workshop to define the research agenda for CHAIS at the Charlotte Center.
Contribute to the development of a Special Topics Course on CHAIS for the Graduate School, aligning it with ethical research principles.
Assist in comprehensive literature reviews on the topics of Responsible and Trustworthy AI, Equitable AI, AI for Good, Human-centered AI, and AI Literacy, and coordinate the establishment of pilot research projects.
Organize a writing retreat focused on proposal writing and improve the Center's research proposals by coordinating with a specialized writing consultant. Facilitate a seminar series to invite external experts, fostering a dynamic research environment and promoting knowledge exchange.
Identity and AI Education: An Intersectional Analysis of Student Experiences in AI
Authored and submitted four IRB applications, successfully leading to the completion of three pilot studies.
Conducted an online study focusing on understanding user mental models of co-creative AI and exploring ethical dilemmas in human-AI co-creation.
Led a Classroom Study aimed at understanding student experiences with AI design through an intersectional lens.
University-wide survey to Investigate students' experiences with AI to inform and develop appropriate policy recommendations for faculty regarding the use of AI in teaching.
NSF Grant: IUSE: The Effects of Course Structure and Sociality on the Success of Different Intersectional Groups of Students in Undergraduate Computing Education {link}
Perform an exploratory study into how students' sense of belonging and ability to learn is impacted by three elements of a course: the course structure (structure), student interactions with peers (sociality), and the course climate (inclusivity).
Develop and refine rubrics, facilitate collaboration between UNC Charlotte and Temple University research teams.
Provide assistance with tasks like IRB, team meetings, research protocol development, surveys, and data collection.
Learned methods and procedures to implement social and behavioral research and explore Intersectionality in the process.
NSF Grant: IUSE/PFE:RED: The Connected Learner: Design Patterns for Transforming Computing and Informatics Education {link1} {link2}
Helped implement as part of an NSF grant project the ACE-IT teaching initiative by developing and coordinating the creation of online modules in Canvas for CCI faculty development and community building during the Covid pandemic.
Performed mixed-methods investigative research on the impacts and role of Intro to CS classes in the CCI dept.
Data support (analysis/prep) for exclusion response workshops, based on the Augusto Boal theater of the oppressed method.

Developed a Business Intelligence Governance plan for the organization, this involved setting up a committee, charter, governance policies, and guidelines.

Emphasized ethical considerations and responsible use of AI, culminating in student-led critical reviews and practical applications of generative AI tools, such as GPT models, in diverse scenarios.

Projects
Conducted research to identify the type of cancer that a person is suffering from with the CT image and segment the image to highlight the region affected by cancer(tumor)
Implemented SVM Classifier and Python main libraries (skimage, matplotlib, pandas, numpy) as the base to train system for semantic image classification & visual analytics with Jupyter notebook and Tableau.
The goal of the project was to fabricate devices that allow humans to interact with one another through a tangible form of interaction using ferrofluid patterns
Implemented wireless communication between the devices using ESP8266 Wi-Fi SoC from Espressif Systems.
Modeled the Device using EHF1-Type ferrofluid for the display, Arduino programmed LED Circuit and NdFeb for the user input system
