My research agenda explores
How human identity influences interactions with and learning of technology
How policy and governance mechanisms are shaped by intersectional positionalities of individuals or groups
particularly within Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computer Science (CS) education.
At UNC Charlotte, I teach Intro AI courses and contribute to NSF-funded research projects within the Center for Humane AI Studies (CHAIS), the Center for Education Innovation Research (CEIR) Lab, and the Human-Centered Computing (HCC) Lab.
At CRA, I support research and outreach across multiple NSF-funded initiatives and serve as the lead Fellow for the NAIRR Pilot Expansion AI EDU RCN. Supporting the LEVELUP AI Initative and the NSF NAIRR Expansions conferences and supporting Fellow.
As the Global Focal Point for the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth (UNMGCY) Science-Policy Interface I advocate globally for equitable access to STEM education, mental health, gender/sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), and sustainable human-centered technology development and deployment.
